“Saving Time” by Daniel Rosenkrantz

   Posted by: admin   in Poetry

I am saving time for the future
when I might not have so much left
or for my children if they run out.

I’ve been storing minutes and seconds in a box
under my bed and sometimes I find
an hour lying around and throw it in too.

I make sure to close the box tight –
I don’t want time to escape from me.

When I am an old man
I will have a lot of time
in the box under my bed.
