This ones for you…

   Posted by: deepka   in General

This poems for you and…

For the tears that didn’t surface
For…
The roses that chose to die in the shadows
For…
The warmth that suffocated
For…
The heart that chose to break
For…
The tenderness that went unacknowledged
For…
The words that fell short
For…
The shaking shoulders
For…
The Trembling hands
For…
The Sleepless nights
For…
The eyes, unseen, full of longing
And…
The Prayers left unanswered…

This poem…
for the dreams that broke …

Winter

   Posted by: deepka   in General

Gnarled and twisted
He spreads his arms
With creaking
Bones
Dead white
In surrender
To the
cold
Winds
that with not
a thought
strip him bare naked
of all that he had toiled
for
all summer long
yet
with a longing
He sways
And brays
For yet
Another season
Of warmth
Of new beginnings
He mourns
Fully the three months
Cruel
And hard hearted
He moans and groans
And weeps
Shrieks
Lunges and recoils
As brittle old bones crack
In waiting
He suffers
For another
summer

Apologies…

   Posted by: deepka   in General

When his eyes meet mine
I know not why
My heart flounders
Like a fish
Out of water
Desperate
My pores sweat
As if it was
July
And no matter
How hard i try
My eyes
Search for
An escape
Tense
I can feel the blood
Rush
Through my veins
A sorry smile
Touches my lips
As i
Clumsily
Apologise
And disappear
Abhorring myself
For the unaccounted for
Behaviour
Rushing to hide
My crimson face

Just another breakup…

   Posted by: deepka   in General

Tears streamed
As i sniffed into
The phone
Hoping
It was just another
Cruel joke
Stifling
My voice
In the locked dark bathroom
Imploring
Again
And again
For him to tell me
He was lying
There had been no fights
I told the pale blue tiles
Mind racing
To grasp a fault
As my fingers hooked the
Worn hard chair
Whitened knuckles
Stared back
There was a lot of laughter
And my muffled
Voice screeched
I squealed
At his serenity
And buried my wet
Face in my lap
Waiting
For my grating
Heart to stop
As the realisation
Finally sank in.
